TITLE: “Sirena Mare”

Modern artwork on canvas, 31,88×12,99 (81x33cm), artist Alessandro Siviglia

“Sirena Mare” is a portrait of a little mermaid with red and orange hair on a blue, light blue and yellow background. Original painting by Alessandro Siviglia with bright and lively colours. The mermaid is one of the oldest fabulous creatures in Greek mythology. Parthenope for example is a siren who was venerated in Naples as a protective goddess. Around the mermaids there are many myths and legends, they represent the sea and beauty. In this portrait Siviglia shows us the elegance and passion but also a slight melancholy of that fantastic being, a mix between woman and fish.

The vertical format of the canvas is narrow and long and lends itself to being hung in a confined space near a door or a mirror for example. Ideal for furnishing a house by the sea, a hotel or bed and breakfast in Naples or in other places by the sea.
