Black and white painting “The Comet”

Description

TITLE: “La Cometa”

Modern black and white painting, 39.37 x 78.74 inches (100×200 cm), mixed media on canvas, A. Siviglia 2025

“The Comet” is a large contemporary figurative canvas where figures, animals, objects and symbols appear mostly in white against deep blacks and grays, with striking touches of red. On the left, a queen sits on a stool — a calm, authoritative center toward which other figures converge, bringing gestures of affection and beams of light that create a flowing narrative across the surface. The high-contrast palette gives the work an intimate, sophisticated mood, while the pared-down contemporary style, rich in symbolic detail, invites multiple readings: benevolent leadership, a ritual of devotion, or a metaphor for human relationships in which affection’s light emerges from shadow. Perfect for open spaces, lofts and minimalist interiors, the canvas becomes a defining focal point that soothes the eye and reveals new details with every viewing.
