Title “CRISTO CUORE”

Contemporary art work, mixed technique on canvas, 53X38 cm, INCH: 20,8×14,9″, Siviglia 2019

Portrait of Jesus with the crown of thorns and dressed in a festive manner on a garnet red background. Next to Jesus we see the Sacred Heart which in the tradition of the Catholic Church is worshiped as a symbol of the unconditional love of Christ towards men.
A religious painting in contemporary style framed with a baroque style frame to recall the epoch of sacred art and to underline the real being of Christ.

The purple background, the color of the rulers, which was given to Christ by the Roman soldiers during his scourging to be humiliated and derided. In this case the artist uses it as a real dominant color that underlines the true power of Jesus, his being king of heaven and earth redeeming the offense that was to him made by the Roman soldiers.
