Description

A portrait of two female faces next to each other. They could be friends, sisters, or lovers; in any case, they are close and supportive.

TITLE: “Due Visi”

Modern portrait, 13 × 13 inches (33×33 cm) with frame, mixed media on canvas, A. Siviglia 2026

“Two Faces” is a quietly poetic portrait of two female faces resting side by side, connected by a bond open to interpretation: they might be friends, sisters, or lovers. Whatever their relationship, what truly stands out is their emotional closeness, a sense of mutual support that emerges through the simplicity and intention of each line.

The painting embraces a semi‑abstract contemporary cubist style, defined by bold black contours that carve out the profiles against a soft pale pistachio green background. The restrained palette and sharp contrasts give the work an elegant, instantly recognizable presence. Paired with the companion piece “Sad Portrait”, it forms a cohesive mini‑collection—perfect for those who appreciate modern art that is both essential and deeply expressive.

Its compact, square format makes it ideal for smaller spaces: an entryway, a narrow wall between windows, a hallway, or placed above a bedside table. Despite its minimalism, this small painting conveys an entire world of relationships, intimacy, and quiet tenderness.
