Title: “ The Lounge of Picasso’s women“
This artwork by Alessandro Siviglia shows many elements that recall Classicism and Cubism, as you can easily workout by looking at some details of the painting: the women represented are some ex lovers of the painter. In the middle of the painting there is depicted a only woman with dark hair who was the artist’s lover. This lover was there in the artist’s youth and with her Siviglia discovered many sides of art, discovering painters who use the brush and paint on canvas, because at that time the artist used to paint only walls with his graffiti. On the left there is the other lover, blonde, her physical aspect demostrate that she is a control freak.
At that time the artist left painting and after a long period he had an inner crisis because he was not chasing all that he had inside, he found himself in a world of falsehoods of deceptions and betrayals but all this ended immediately after leaving the girl. The last woman representes the revolution, his revenge, beautiful and intelligent and who knows her stuff, the artist defines her as an entrepreneur and now they are married. He got to know her during a trip to Milan then he fell in love with her, which was the inspiration for many works by this famous painter in his own Siviglia style (Sivigliano).
This work is dedicated to women in general, women who know how to move both positive and negative feelings and emotions inside every man, dedicated to sincere women who know their stuff but especially dedicated to the great master Pablo Picasso, the master of painting and of observation. Siviglia wanted to paint women in a very similar way to Picasso to pay homage and remember him through his painting forever.
The title suggests that women are by Picasso but in reality it is not so. It is called the Lounge of Picasso’s women, because the women are very similar to the great master’s cubism but revisited in Siviglia style (Sivigliano).
