TITLE: “La Battaglia del Panaro”
Large modern artwork, 39.37×57.09 inches (100×145 cm) mixed technique digital and acrylic on canvas, Siviglia 2025
“La Battaglia del Panaro” in English “The Battle of the Panaro” is an original painting by Alessandro Siviglia that vividly portrays a historic battle between Austria and the Kingdom of Naples in 1815. With an energetic style, the artwork illustrates the events of April 3, when General Michele Carrascosa led Neapolitan troops in an attempt to cross the Panaro River.
After failing at other crossings, the Neapolitan forces succeeded near Castelfranco Emilia, advancing to attack General Bianchi’s positions. Meanwhile, intense fighting occurred at the center of the Austrian line. King Joachim Murat instructed Carrascosa to strike the enemy’s right flank. The Austrian troops, overwhelmed, retreated, allowing Neapolitans to secure a victory. This triumph enabled the capture of key cities in the Duchy of Modena, including Modena, Reggio Emilia, and Carpi.
The painting, made with acrylic and spray paint on canvas, bursts with life and color, combining historical narrative with a modern, dynamic style. It’s ideal for large, elegant spaces like open-plan living and dining areas, hotel foyers, law firms, or offices of entrepreneurs and CEOs. Beyond decoration, it inspires with its energy, determination, and sense of triumph, transforming any setting it adorns.
