Description

modern painting portrait of a woman with a dog on an intense electric blue background
“La Dama con il Cangatto” 39,3×31,4″ inches, mixed technique oil on canvas, Siviglia 2021

TITLE: “La Dama con il Cangatto”

Stunning portrait of an elegant woman with her beloved dog on an intense electric blue background. This painting is a reinterpretation of Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Lady with an Ermine”. Siviglia kept the Lady’s classy posture and her sophisticated outfit with the necklace of black pearls, the frontlet and her perfectly tied hair. Instead of the ermine he painted his very own Cangatto, a mixed creature of a dog and a cat which appears often in his works. He intensified the color of the background which emphaces the royalty of the lady, adds energy to the artwork so it becomes a real eyecatcher.
