“La Giustizia” in English “Lady Justice” is a very large modern painting painted in a Siviglian figurative style with acrylic and spray paint on canvas. The complex scene consists of many different characters, animals, objects and other details to discover. In the center emerges “Justice” personified in a queen on horseback with sword and shield surrounded by all the other characters. There is the one who bows down, there is the one who hides, there is one who calls her for help.
Usually “Lady Justice”, a goddess in Roman mythology, is represented standing blindfolded, a scale in one hand and a sword in the other hand. Siviglia, instead, wanted her to be pro-active and dynamic on horseback ready to attack, her sword raised and rather than holding her scales she protects herself with a shield. Her eyes are not blindfolded although the gray eye suggests she is blind at least on one eye.

A beautiful picture with so much meaning to interpret and understand on a large scale, ideal for decorating big spaces. Great for decorating a meeting room in a law firm for example or a judge’s home.
