Modern cubist style painting that portrays a woman of the romantic era. It is a reinterpretation of the portrait of Anne Catherine Le Preudhomme de Chatenoy, Comtesse de Verdun painted in 1780 by Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun

As in the original, the artist created a black background to enhance the light colors of the dress, hat and skin of the noble French woman. Siviglia, however, by painting her with a sword in her hand, adds courage and tenacity to the subject and turns her into a musketeer.

An intense painting of strong contrasts, a painting that combines contemporary style with that of Romanticism, which creates a symbiosis of the modern with the ancient and inserted in a vintage frame preferably gilded in Baroque or Renaissance style underlines this even more. Ideal for decorating the living room at home or the office of a lawyer or a doctor’s office, perfect for rustic environments for example in an old fashioned library furnished in an antique style.
