TITLE: “Largo Campo Salerno”
Modern artwork, 38.58 x 31.1 inches (98×79 cm), mixed technique acrylic, spray and college on canvas, Siviglia 2025
This contemporary painting, characterized by vibrant figurative expressionism, captures the dynamic essence of Largo Campo, a historic and cultural landmark in Salerno. The square, famous for its Fountain of the Fishes, attributed to the ingenuity of Luigi Vanvitelli, comes alive with figures interacting in the urban landscape. The balconies of the surrounding buildings reflect the deep passion for Salernitana, the city’s beloved football team. The signature garnet color of its fans blends seamlessly into the composition, reinforcing the painting’s strong sense of identity and belonging. Using a mixed technique of acrylic, spray, and collage on canvas, the artist transforms the energy and spirit of the place into a striking and immersive visual narrative.
Possible locations for the painting:
1. Museum of the City of Salerno – A fitting tribute to local artistic and cultural heritage.
2. Palazzo di Città – A distinguished institutional setting that highlights the square’s significance in city life.
3. Arechi Stadium – A dedicated space celebrating the history of Salernitana and its connection to the community.
4. Contemporary art gallery – An ideal environment for the painting to engage in dialogue with modern works by local and international artists.
5. Historic restaurants or cafés of Salerno – A more intimate and casual setting where the artwork can enrich the city’s authentic atmosphere.
6. Living room of a Salernitano far from home – A personal space where someone can keep a piece of their hometown close to their heart.
