Large modern painting with bright and vivid colors made with oil and acrylic. The name of the painting was inspired by a neighbourhood in the south of Rome called Mezzocammino.
In this work the artist depicts a king going for a long walk and during this journey along his path he meets various characters. The painting shows a unicorn and several women sitting on the grass and others dancing. The painting is full of flowers, fruits and angels flying high in the skies of Mezzocammino like in a haunted forest. The colors yellow, orange and red represent the sunset which gives space to the night. On the right side of the painting we can see a half-man-half-horse who plays the flute as if to announce something is going to happen. The faun has a triangular head with small horns on it, hairy legs with large and robust hooves. The king is very taken by all these characters and by everything he can see there, but he is cautious and takes small, but confident steps to understand and test the terrain.
