Etruscan-inspired painting “Notte Ancora Nostra”

Description

TITLE: “Notte Ancora Nostra”

Small intimate artwork, 17.3 × 14.2 in inches (44×36 cm), mixed technique acrylic on canvas, Siviglia 2025

A contemporary reinterpretation of an ancient ritual

This canvas updates a distant visual language drawn from Etruscan times and transforms it into a bold, modern vision. At the center, two figures share a deep, intimate moment: their closeness is suggested through expressive gestures and poses that hint at the fusion of bodies and souls. Bathed in warm golden light, they stand out sharply against a black field that shifts into a luminous bronze.

A black sun rises above them, a symbol of mystery and transformation that gives the scene a mythic quality. The contrast between the bright yellow figures and the deep black and gleaming bronze creates a powerful visual rhythm, bridging ancient iconography and contemporary minimalism. Textured brushwork and metallic glazes add tactile depth, suggesting a tension between hardness and warmth, memory and modern impulse.

Designed for adult spaces, this work fits an elegant bedroom or a professional studio where relationships and sexuality are explored with care and respect. It invites reflection, sparks meaningful conversation about intimacy, and functions as a striking art object that balances daring and restraint.
