Description

Title: “Totò e la Malafemmina”

This painting on canvas is dedicated to Antonio Griffo Focas Flavio Angelo Ducas Comneno Porfirogenito Gagliardi de Curtis di Bisanzio aka Totò, one of the greatest actors and comedians in the history of Italian theater and cinema as well as the artist’s favorite actor.

One of his most famous and entertaining films is called “Totò, Peppino e la Malafemmina” which inspired Siviglia to paint this beautiful work in which Totò is represented by the moon with a hat while the woman, the floosy, hugs him tenderly. The canvas is surrounded by a frame that was painted as well, like this it became part of the artwork. A portrait in a contemporary cubist style with intense colors and strong contrasts, a real eye-catcher, very romantic, not to say passionate and decorative.
