Mori contro Cristiani – an art work conquers a highschool

To copy an art work is bad. You don’t do that! It’s actually like stealing. But not in this case. In this case the copy of the painting is not a simple copy: it’s an assembly of 42 replicated parts each one done by a different student in his own unique way according to his personal interpretation of the art work. Those 42 smaller canvases are united to become the huge reproduction of Siviglia’s painting “Mori contro Cristiani” – in an extraordinary dimension, enlarged by hand.
Yesterday, on November 22, 2017 at the scientific highschool at Monte Sant’Angelo they celebrated the inauguration of a new hall – equipped with lap tops and a big touch screen for the students to use. The riproduction of “Mori contro Cristiani” is the decorative highlight of this new hall (see also the other article about “Mori contro Cristiani”). The artist has been invited to participate at the inauguration together with the celebration of the school’s day of music and art.
It was a great morning full of music and dance performances, poetry and presentations. The students are bursting of energy, rich of talents and have a great desire to grow which they demonstrated during the morning’s celebration.
It was a wonderful experience, an honor and a great emotion for the artist. Not only to be invited, but especially to know that a riproduction of one of his art works is there to inspire the new generations to go their way – with semplicity, strength and serenity.
