Mixed Technique on canvas

Dimensions: 150 cm x 200 cm / 59″ x 78,7″ Inch

One of the first large paintings created by the Italian artist, a huge canvas full of different characters but only one protagonist: “La Reina Sofia” – the Queen.

The queen Sofia, born in Athens in 1938, daughter of the Greek king Paul I, got married in 1962 in Athens with prince Juan Carlos, the future king of Spain. The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid was named after her and it hosts one the greatest art works by Pablo Picasso, “La Guernica”.
