Modern paintings on commission: Portraits of Professions
A collector from Milan, who had previously purchased the painting “Il Santo Medico” to give it to his friend who had graduated in medicine, contacts me to commission another painting. This time, his friend’s brother is graduating in environmental and safety engineering and has asked me for a modern painting that portrays the profession of an engineer with a helmet and a reflective jacket, with a hint of a construction site. A flower emerges from the helmet, symbolizing the environment.

Yet another client asked me for a portrait of his friend, a dentist from Naples while he is working at his office. The window is open, and in the background you can see the majestic Mount Vesuvius:

For another client I created a painting with an optician in the center, a passionate wine taster, while an octopus with long tentacles unwinds at his feet. In the background, I inserted an “A”, symbol of the “Salernitana”, the football team from Salerno that was playing in Italy’s A league, and an abstract, colorful and lively background.

The most recent request was for a portrait of a Roman accountant; the client asked me to depict him behind the desk while he manages the accounts for his clients, with the view from the terrace framing St. Peter’s Cathedral. The colors chosen are those of AS Roma, yellow and red, complete with a smiling Lupa, the Female Wolf symbol of Rome. I also added a small boat, since the accountant is passionate about travel and luxury boats.
